Our story

1982 CREATION OF DEREX

Derex commenced its activities when pharmacist Joaquín Roda began to give courses on pharmaceutical compounding for pharmacists, organised by the different official professional associations throughout Spain, using self-emulsifying bases (semi-fabricated bases for manufacturing emulsions) which were manufactured in his laboratory.

1990

The company’s client pharmacies started to ask for certain basic finished products, such as shower gels, shampoos and hand creams.
From then on, Derex started to manufacture finished products, specialising in emulsions for the pharmaceutical sector.

1998

First Spanish cosmetic laboratory with ISO 9001 certification.
Since then, Derex has evolved in line with our clients’ needs, creating new business lines and focusing on effective dermatological cosmetics.

2000

New business lines. Specialist outsourcing.

2006

Expansion of facilities, opening a 2,500 m² production unit and 2,500 m² of storage space, enabling us to offer a flexible service adapted to each client’s needs.

Present Day

It now has more than 400 products marketed by different brands and through various channels, and has worked in partnership with different public and private institutions.
One of the company’s future objectives is to increase its internationalisation.
